Back again

I was recently reading the brilliant Soule-mama blog where she mentions having the information and photos she has posted made into a blog book and thought wow that would be fantastic. So I am going to start again using this as a journal type of avenue of my thoughts. documenting our lives and then get it made into a book of our memories. So here goes:

On Saturday 7th November, after a breakfast of pancakes with sugar and lemon for Ad his favorite and mine with bananas and honey, we went for a walk in the woods. We took a picnic lunch with us my camera and a collection of bags and baskets to collect fire wood and other interesting things. The weather was bright and sunny with just a little nip in the air, perfect for walking in the woods earlier in the day before sunset. We did find lots of things and explored a part of the woods we have not been to before. Adam spent a lot of the time climbing trees.

He spent some time climbing the trees and we did lots of exploring. We found some beautiful trees and some amazing fungus, one even looked like the wings of a beautiful butterfly.
We stopped to eat our picnic lunch and enjoyed a mug or two of hot chocolate from out flask it was still warm and sweet and very comforting in the slight chill of the afternoon. We brought home various sticks and flowers fungus and even a huge fir cone we thought we could use for a Christmas table decoration, once sprayed with sliver of course and dried out (it was a bit soggy!!)

As the afternoon wore on we got slightly lost and a little concerned as it was now getting dark. So we back tracked the way we had come remembering as beat we could which way that had been. Fortunately as we are both quite observant we made it back ok. We got back into the car and drove on to Asda to do some food shopping. However whilst we were there we could not resist buying a few more Christmas decorations which we are looking forward to putting up soon.

Sorry it's been awhile....

Hiya, sorry it has been awhile since I was last here and I missed the Day In My Life that Little Jenny Wren does and that I was hoping to be a part of this month. However I have been having problems with my camera and now that I have the photos I want, I now can't find the cable to download the pictures and so it goes on....life can be very frustrating at times. Once I have located the cable I can downlaod the photos currently on the camera and then clear the card so that I can then take photos of Adam's Birthday Party tomorrow and add these to the next blog entry....once I have found the darn cable....aaargh!

The furniture is arriving.......

This stove and the pots and pans set that I ordered to go with it, I am pleased to say are matching really very nicely. So much so that I think my stove and its accessories are my favourite pieces so far.

The next room and accessories that I love the most is the bathroom...look at the bath with its taps and the plug....brilliant. The basin and the toilet are cool too...the toilet seat can be left open or closed according to the member of the household who used it last!

These are the items that will probably go in the first hall and stairs section .....although that may change....

Aren't these two instruments just beautiful? Can you believe that someone can have suffient patience and skill to make these things that are so tiny and beautifully crafted?

This slightly blurry picture is of the table that came with the sewing room furniture set....I am still working on my up close photography skills lol.
That will do for now as the other photos that I took where a little blurry too.....need to do some more pictures when I can tear myself away from playing with the rest of the packets of accessories that arrived yesterday, which my brother collected for me and then I recieved from him today. This is so exciting like christmas every day....I love love love it!

How the House looks inside part 2....

This is the attic which is divided into two rooms....the playroom (left) & the sewing room (right)...

I also have in the main body of the House 9 other rooms to use....from the top down and left to right these are:
the bathroom, hall & stairs, the children's bedroom; then the sitting room, hall & stairs and the adults bedroom; then the kitchen with french doors out to garden, hall with front door & the stairs and the last room is the dinning room....

The view of the whole house just waiting to be furnished and peopled....I love it!!

Inside the Dolls House...

After working hard all day the house was finally assembled.....

Computer Madness

I have spent a good part of this afternoon trying to customise my new blog to my satisfaction. However I am not especially computer literate, I tend to do things the old fashioned way by trial and error or do it and see what happens! It may save me reading a Dummies Guide but saves no time.....still never mind.
Adam went off to his dad's at lunchtime and will stay with him now until Monday lunchtime, then he has to come home so I can get him ready for the new school year. He will be starting in a new class with a new teacher this year but should still have the majority of his old classmates anyway....bless!
Now that I have the next three days all to myself I will have to think about what to do with all that freetime.....so many options, hee hee.

Tasha Tudor Day

In honour of Tasha Tudors Day, the 28th August which was her birthday, I decided to get myself involved in something I know she would have approved of! I bought myself a dolls house and a load of furniture and accessories to go into it....of course it is not nearly as grand as Tasha's own magnificant dolls house but it is a start. I have wanted my own dolls house for many years now and was not lucky enough to have had one as a child. So I decided that as this year was my 40th birthday I would indulge myself in this long held wish. As soon as it arrives I can take photos and post them. The rest of the day was spent in enjoying time with my precious son, two rabbits and the guinea-pig!
